After the Acardi 2016 board refused to allow a shareholder 75% vote on changing our parking lot pavement from asphalt to concrete pavers installing them in January during the confusion over changing the anuel meeting to February the maintenance nightmare has started.
Research for 30 minutes on line and you will find that concrete paving bricks need to be sealed regularly particularly when used in driveways and parking areas to keep them looking good.
We we have experience we have sealed our pavers around the pool many times over the past 30 years since they were installed and no cars park on them.
No sealer was included in the paver contract and now there are spots everywhere. Mr. Acardi is pushing a towing scheme to punish the owners of spotted parking spaces. First he proposes and the board is considering sending a very threatening/ nasty letter with no appeal process. Nazi tactics to cover his incompitance.
This is crazy. Workmen often pull up and park in unoccupied spaces. Unauthorized non occupants and guests of legitimate occupants of the building often park in unoccupied spaces If their cars or trucks leak fluids how is it the responsability of the unoccupied space owner? Without a sealer we have management by catastrophe Mr. Accardi’s specialty.
Now the the board has approved Non budgeted pressure washing and sealing the parking areas. Probably $10,000 after 2 months for the 80 year no maintenance pavers in the 2017 budget. To keep pavers looking good it costs more than to keep asphalt looking good.
This was stupid and now residents will be required not to park in their apace for several days so this work can be done. Also we will pap pay pay for this fiasco for the next 50 years.
